Okay so my heart doctor is going out and getting some new stuff for his boat, between briskets out of the smoker last week and then the ribs you would think that maybe all I do is eat! Not so I also like to drink a good brew also! I had to go over to the west bank of virginia this weekend and while there I got some Oysters and Crab meat, petite lump to be exact, it was imported but I gave it a try. I am finding local bay crab to be increasingly hard to find, but believe me there is a price to pay one way or another, about $20.00 in the Fresh market. The oysters were local just outside of Hampton roads, and purchased from the waterman who caught them. they were tasty and cost about $25.00 a half bushel. as you can see the crab made some beautiful cakes fried to a crisp golden brown. the oysters were fat and steamed just right, I will say they were not Chincoteague salts but very tasty. Soon I will be able to get out and get to fishing or something. Untill then I guess I will just keep cooking!

yes they were, and when we were finished with them, we put the shells back in the water.
